Interior face of the outer coffin of Djehuty-nakht From Deir el-Bersheh, tomb of Djehuty-nakht. Right side. MFA 20.1822.

Objects painted on this coffin of Djehuty-nakht were for the well-being of the ka (or spirit) in the afterlife. There is a bed in the form of a lion, complete with feet and legs, and accessories. The five dark red objects to the top may be ingots of copper, or razors or whetstones. Below the bed are several types of headrests, the red one of wood and the white ones of alabaster or a light-colored wood. The rectangular case above the bed holds four razors, each with a handle of a different material: ivory (white), wood (black and yellow), copper (red), ebony (black). The large round object at the left is a floral collar that rests on a table or chest.
