Success! Campaign Goal of $500 Million Achieved Thanks to the generosity of over 25,000 donors, the MFA surpassed its unprecedented Campaign goal, raising $504 million between July 1, 2001, and September 15, 2008, for the Building Project, endowment, and annual operations. The Campaign supports the Museum's transformation as we build a new American Wing, renovate historic entrances and galleries, create new educational areas, and dedicate an entire wing to Contemporary art. Visitors can already enjoy some of these spectacular spaces—the renovated State Street Corporation Fenway Entrance, reopened after thirty years, and the new Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf Visitor Center. When the new wing opens in 2010, more of the MFA's world-renowned collection will be on view than ever before. We hope you'll visit often to see the exciting changes underway and, most of all, to enjoy our extraordinary collection. |

Alfond Auditorium—Take Your Seat! When the new Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, opens its doors in 2010, we will inaugurate a new auditorium in the American Wing—an intimate space with 150 seats—for our outstanding program of films, concerts, performances, and lectures. This new space, named in honor of Barbara and Theodore Alfond, will serve today’s audiences in a new way and provide an exciting venue for future programs.
You can become part of the MFA’s historic Building Project by naming a seat in the Alfond Auditorium for a gift of $25,000. You may pay your gift over a period of up to five years, or through a planned gift. Naming a chair, in honor of yourself, your family, or a loved one, is a wonderful way to be forever linked to the Museum and to support our core mission of education and outreach. If you have questions or would like to discuss making a gift to the MFA, please contact Bill McAvoy, Director of Development, at 617-369-3101 or wmcavoy@mfa.org. |
