The New MFA will enrich the ways that visitors encounter great works of art through enhanced and increased space for its collection, new exhibition spaces, and improved navigation through the galleries.

The cornerstone of the transformation is a new wing for the Art of the Americas. The wing will dramatically improve the Museum’s ability to exhibit and interpret its collection of art from the United States and North, Central, and South America.

Other features include a state-of-the-art auditorium; a majestic glass courtyard; a newly designed Gund Gallery for special exhibitions; the centrally located Sharf Visitor Center; visitor amenities, dining, and shopping; redesigned historic entrances; renovated galleries and conservation labs; improvements to roadways; and enhanced landscaping and parking.
