Description: Polished round amethyst beads with gold granulated spacers, four small gold beads with abstract-patterned granulation, and three large beads with images of sea creatures depicted in granulation; the largest of the three, in the center, depicts an octupus, and the two flanking gold beads depict starfish. Handmade clasp decorated with gold granulation.

Provenance/Ownership History: Made by the artist for Toshiko Takaezu about 1972; given by Takaezu to the MFA in 2008. (Accession Date: February 25, 2009)

Gift of Toshiko Takaezu in honor of John Paul Miller
