Ring with central aquamarine

Description: This ring features a large radiant-cut aquamarine within a shaped bezel that is ornamented with four areas of enamelwork depicting flowers which are separated by groups of small rose-cut diamonds (20). The shank and undercarriage is engraved with floral decoration and the shoulders of the shank, like the bezel, are decorated with enamel with the floral motif. The aquamarine has a chip in one corner of the stone.

Provenance/Ownership History: Mid-19th century, with donor's great great grandmother; by descent to present owner; gift to the MFA (Accession date: September 16, 2009)
