Description: The set is made of soft-paste porcelain with clear glaze and surface decoration of hand-painted enamels and gilding. The set shows signs of wear and use.
Provenance/Ownership History: According to family history, the tea service was purchased in France in the mid-nineteenth century by Rebecca Gleason, wife of Roswell Gleason. The set descended in the Gleason family to the donors.
