Description: Carved wooden rattle with fiber wrapped around end of handle. According to donor, this rattle belonged to the Native American named Took-Beak.
Provenance/Ownership History: Before 2011, purchased by Dale and Doug Anderson from Quintana Galleries of Native American Art, Portland, Oregon [see note 1]; 2012, gift of the Andersons to the MFA. (Accession date: June 27, 2012) Notes: [1] According to the donors, the rattle once belonged to the Native American man Took-Beek (Sea Lion Hunter), who is depicted in the large house post carved by Joe David (2005.373).
