Description: "Boston Fusilier" solder in red jacket on one side and "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" on the other, with eagle and shield below spout.
Provenance/Ownership History: 1790, possibly one of 100 pitchers commissioned by Samuel Jenks (b. 1731 – d. 1801), Charlestown, MA [see note 1]. About 1999/2000, William and Teresa Kurau (dealers), Lempeter, PA; about 1999/2000, sold by William and Teresa Kurau to Timothy Phillips, Cambridge, MA; 2011, gift of Timothy Phillips to the MFA. (Accession Date: December 30, 2011) NOTES: [1] At the time, he was captain of the Independent Fusiliers of Boston.
