Description: Red square utilitarian cloth used as a headscarf, baby carrier or sling of cotton woven on a back-strape loom. Two panels stitched together and embroidered wiht flowers in chain stitch with lavendar and gold silk or rayon, white cotton and white wool.

Provenance/Ownership History: 1970, sold by Frances Pratt, to Jack Lenor Larsen, New York; by about 2000, sold by Larsen to Thomas Murray, Mill Valley, CA; about 2000, exchanged by Thomas Murray with Jeff Spurr, Cambridge, MA; 2012, gift of Jeff Spurr to the MFA. (Accession Date: June 27, 2012)
