Description: Long narrow plain weave woven raffia dance skirt, stitch cane-resist dyed in indigo with paired canes forming interlacing diamond pattern, red dyed raffia border at one edge with small natural raffia pompoms, natural raffia border at the other with larger pompoms

Provenance/Ownership History: 1981, sold by an unknown African trader, Cambridge, MA, to Deborah Garner, Leyden, MA; 2012, sold by Deborah Garner to the MFA. (Accession date: March 28, 2012)
