Description: Epergne-candelabra, with three arms, each having a threaded end to receive sockets for candleticks or glass dishes.

Provenance/Ownership History: 1851, given by John Lowell Gardner (b. 1804 - d. 1884) to his wife, Catherine Endicott Peabody Gardner (b. 1808 - d. 1883), Boston [see note 1]; by descent to their son, George Augustus Gardner (b. 1829 - d. 1916), Boston; 1915, given by George Augustus Gardner to his grandson, George Peabody Gardner, Jr. (b. 1888 - d. 1976), Brookline, MA; by descent to his son, George Peabody Gardner (b. 1917- d. 2012), and his wife, Tatiana Stepanova Gardner (b. 1924 - d. 2009), Brookline; 2011, bequest of Tatiana Gardner to the MFA.
