Location: C. Kevin and G. Barrie Landry Gallery (Home in the New Nation)

Description: On one side the Great Seal of the United States within linked chain with names of 15 states. On the other side, allegorical figures of liberty peace, and plenty surrounded by Latin motto, "DEUS NOBIS HAEC OTIA FECIT" within a chain with names of original 13 colonies.

Provenance/Ownership History: About 1999/2000, William and Teresa Kurau (dealers), Lampeter, PA; about 1999/2000 sold by William and Teresa Kurau to Timothy Phillips, Cambridge, MA; 2011, gift of Timothy Phillips to the MFA. (Accession date: January 25, 2012)
