The Boston LGBT Film Festival
May 6-16, 2010

The Boston LGBT Film Festival celebrates its 26th anniversary with a selection of films that showcases the best in LGBT cinema from around the world. The Festival will be focusing on LGBT Latino/Latina cinema with films from Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Portugal.

Festival coordinated by James Nadeau, Amit Dixit, Amanda Johnston, Aliza Shapiro, Michelle Coleman, and Pam Waterman.

  • The Sundance Audience Award winning ghost story Undertow by Javier Fuentes-Leon. Sat, May 8, 7:30 pm

  • Landmark LGBT film distributor Wolfe Releasing will receive the Boston LGBT Film Festival Community Award for their 25 years of getting LGBT films into theaters. Sat, May 8, 7:30 pm

  • The world premiere of Stu Maddox's new documentary on LGBT aging, Gen Silent, shot in and around Boston. Sat, May 8, 5 pm

  • The New England premiere of Rivers Wash Over Me that Film Comment critic Amy Taubin calls "one of the best undistributed films of 2009." Sat, May 15, 4:30 pm

  • Cheryl Dunye (The Watermelon Woman) returns this year with her new dark comedy The Owls starring Skylar Cooper and Guinevere Turner. Sat, May 15, 7:30 pm

  • The New England premiere of Kareem Mortimer's stunning Bahamanian film Children of God. Sun, May 16, 7 pm
