Description(Paris: Duflos le jeune, 1785) Octavo, two vols.; [v. 1] 49 plates; [v. 2] 50 pls.; modern gilt-stamped half black morocco, marbled paper boards.

Illustrations drawn from classical and biblical history; engraved title and texts. Very incomplete set of the plates only from the Abrégé, published in two volumes (Histoire sacrée and histoire profane). The MFA set contains none of the letterpress text; in addition, the first volume has only 48 of 88 plates, the second 49 of 108 called for by Cohen-de Ricci. Each illustration has several lines of engraved text below it.
