Description(a) Amphora. Not polished. On shoulder, a double band of embossed pendants, relief lines above and below. Above each handle, a vertical archaic mask projecting above edge. On each handle, a dog lying down.
(b) Cover. High with a central knob.
ProvenanceBy 1875: in a public collection in Chiusi; sold at public sale in Florence to J. J. Dixwell (said to be from Chiusi); gift of J. J. Dixwell to MFA, March 1876
