DescriptionThe fertility goddess and protectot of the necropolis Hathor was a popular subject for funerary amulets in both Egypt and Nubia. This example, stamped in repoussé relief in gold leaf, shows the goddess standing, in profile. She is recognizable by the bovine head and horned headdress.
