White cap with flat crown worn by members of the Buginese royal family, main body of the cap made of palm fiber with stylized inscription of the name Muhammend plaited in; central circle and band around lower edge of cap made of plaited flat gold wire. White caps said to have been reserved for those who had completed the haj.

Until about 1965, Raja Gowa Bone, South Sulawesi, Indonesia; about 1965, sold by Raja Gowa Bone to a private collector, Singapore; about 1991/1994, sold by this private collector to Thomas Murray, Mill Valley, California; 2006, sold by Murray to the MFA. (Accession Date: June 21, 2006)
