17th century, probably made for the Catedral de Coro, Coro, Venezuela [see note 1]. By 1966, Alfredo Boulton (b. 1908–d. 1995), Caracas, Venezuela [see note 2]. After 1966, acquired by Arturo Uslar Pietri (b. 1906 – d. 2001), Caracas; by descent to his son, Federico Uslar Braun (b. 1944 – d. 2007), Caracas; 2003, sold by Uslar Braun to the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, Caracas; 2017, gift of the Colección Cisneros to the MFA.
