Carved walnut. Rectangular with rope and acanthus carving on overhanging edge. Shaped panel to floor at front with scrolls and swags in high relief, bold mermaids at corners with outstretched arms holding scrolls on panelled ends. Back has three small drawers divided by acanthus scrolls over open space. Said to come from a palace in Palermo by Montorsoli.
