Large oval band box covered with wallpaper printed in polychrome (brick red, tan, and white predominating) against blue background, in design of two buildings, one with a steeple, against background of trees, on one end a small scrap of a different design, top covered with more of this different paper, having design of waterfall, a single building, trees, a fisherman wading in a stream; lined with plain much foxed and stained paper with printed paper label in cover: JOSEPH J. TILLINGHAST Band Box Manufacturer, AND DEALER IN FRENCH AND AMERICAN PAPER HANGINGS, One door west of the Post Office, Union Street, NEW BEDFORD. Condition poor, several breaks on edge of top and bottom.
