DescriptionSample of cotton batik with design of meandering bands bound together by rosettes, the ground is powdered with large and small forms from which grow branches with leaves, printed with neutral orange and light neutral orange on a dark blue ground.
Provenance1921, sold by Prince Ario Kusumodiningrat (b. circa 1860), Surakarta, to Ananda K. Coomaraswamy (b. 1887 - d. 1947) for the MFA. (Accession date: April 7, 1921)
