Sample of cotton batik. The ground is a light neutral orange covered with tiny curved lines of darker neutral orange and dark blue. From the four corners grow curious plants, there is a bird in the center, the design is printed with dark blue and neutral orange.

1921, sold by Prince Ario Kusumodiningrat (b. circa 1860), Surakarta, to Ananda K. Coomaraswamy (b. 1887 - d. 1947) for the MFA. (Accession date: April 7, 1921)
