Sample of cotton batik with design of dark blue medallions framed with neutral orange with neutral orange crosses in the centers closely cover the ground. In the spaces between are irregular forms printed with light and dark neutral orange.

Purchased through Dr. Ananda K. Coomaraswamy for the MFA from the private collection of the Javanese prince Ario Kusumodiningrat, an elder brother of the then reigning sultan in Surakarta (Solo); April 7, 1921
