Sample of cotton batik with design of bands of light yellowish orange divided by narrower bands of dark blue, the yellowish orange bands are ornamented with irregular forms printed with black and neutral orange, on the blue bands are heart shape figures printed with light yellowish orange, neutral orange and black.


Purchased through Dr.Ananda K. Coomaraswamy for the MFA from the private collection of the Javanese prince Ario Kusumodiningrat, an elder brother of the then reigning sultan in Surakarta (Solo); April 7, 1921
