DescriptionSample of cotton batik with design of Neutral orange ground on which are diagonal bands ornamented with groups of ovals, alternating with bands of irregular forms, printed with light neutral orange and a little blue and black.
Provenance1921, sold by Prince Ario Kusumodiningrat (b. circa 1860), Surakarta, to Ananda K. Coomaraswamy (b. 1887 - d. 1947) for the MFA. (Accession date: April 7, 1921)
