Bed quilt made of pieced, appliqued, and quilted cottons. Central field features a bold geometric composition of green small-scale floral print cotton blocks, alternated with plain white blocks appliqued with stylized red peony flowers in small-scale floral printed cotton. Central field is bordered by narrow strip of plain white cotton appliqued with swagged red garland design, and a wide outer border made of glazed chintz with a dense rose and shield pattern. Quilt is backed with a tan ground floral chintz that still retains its glaze.
