DescriptionShaped bed valance; two pieces of linen plain weave with crewelwork floral motifs; trimmed with narrow piece of red, blue and brown chintz (very worn); thicker floral stems in herringbone stitch, outlines and thinner stems in stem stitch, hem stitch also used for some outline, berries and thinker edges of leaves and flowers in Roumanian couching or New England laid stitch, larger areas of filling in flowers in dense darning stitches made in various patterns
