DescriptionGround: heavy white linen. Design: border across bottom of valance with zig-zag vine left in linen, on a drawn mesh ground, with six short bands of similar ornament joining the border at right angles, worked with white linen. The workmanship may be later than the design. Woven and knotted linen fringe sewed across bottom, plain woven fringe on ends. Stained and repaired.

NOTES:
[1] Karl Singer, the executor of the Tyler estate, came across MFA accession nos. 33.22 and 33.23 while cleaning out Mr. Tyler's home. Attached to them was a note from Mrs. Tyler saying that they were intended for the MFA. They were subsequently given in Abby L. Tyler's name.
