DescriptionTurkish, 18th-19th century blouse, made in 1920s. Front and back made from an embroidered towel, scarf or cover. Tabby-woven linen ground showing close powder of sprigs executed in tent, cross and satin stitches with polychrome silks and gold yarns. Sleeves of coarser linen, plain but for embroidered stripes on cuffs. Low V-neck. Old silks faded, gold tarnished and worn.
