Silk; embroidery, velvet appliqué
Sleeveless bolero of vertical stripes, white silk organdy and satin, cut away center front deep V with curved edges cut up in center back, embroidered with silver sequins and beads in all over dot, edges trimmed with narrow black velvet appliqué and ribbon in turn embroidered with cut steel beads and rhinestones.
Belonged to Alice Gould Hawes (d. circa 1910); before 1954, acquired by Mrs. L. Earle Rowe; 1954, gift of Mrs. L. Earle Rowe to the MFA. (Accession date: May 13, 1954); June 25, 2014, deaccessioned by the MFA for sale through Augusta Auctions, Bellows Falls, VT.
