This is the so-called "Large Paper" issue, and has been extensively extra-illustrated. The extra title page dated 1877 presumably refers to the date when the volume was rebound with the illustrations [some mounting sheets carry watermarks as late as 1875]; it is not a publication date.
This volume contains three drawings by Benjamin Lander, and a sketch by H. [Galt?], dated 1861, as well as numerous autograph letters by Charles Willson Peale, Benjamin West, John Trumbull, and others. The volume also includes numerous portrait prints.
The MFA has another extra-illustrated copy of this title; see accession number 1961.364.
