DescriptionThe interior surface of this simple, turned wooden bowl has been painted with black acrylic stripes, covered with copper leaf and patinated. The resulting pattern is of a nine-square design with narrow bars of stripes flanking the central square. A base coat of purple acrylic painted on the exterior and base of the vessel has been covered with a highly refractive solution of titanium-coated mica which forms a spermacetti pattern. The entire surface of the vessel has been protected with a latex polyurethane finish.
