On each side: two birds with outstretched wings flanking a central panel patterned with geometric designs. The birds are outlined in heavy lines, and have black heads with a large eye in reserve. Their feathers are indicated with broad linear strokes. In the field surrounding their heads are designs including a hanging rosette, a starburst, and a cross-hatched triangle.
Lid: design of palmettes and spirals.
Stripes on handles; rosette on base.

Said to have been acquired in Smyrna (?); by 1923: with Paul Gottschalk; purchased by MFA from Paul Gottschalk, January 3, 1924, for $ 300.00
