DescriptionIncomplete row with lion head (?), bird, bird, lion, joined by undulating stem with plants and flowers. Off-white motifs (worn gilded skin wound on linen) on green background.
ProvenanceBy 1937, Giorgio Sangiorgi (b. 1886 - d. 1965), Rome [see note 1]; 1946, sold by Sangiorgi to Adolph Loewi, Los Angeles; 1948, sold by Loewi to the MFA for $230. (Accession Date: May 13, 1948)
