Buddhist altar cloth (uchishiki) with design of diamond lattice composed of leaf pattern in gilt paper strip discontinuous supplementary patterning wefts enclosing chrysanthemum roundels in white, pink, purple and yellow silk outlined with gilt paper strip discontinuous supplementary patterning wefts on a green twill-weave silk ground; one side has partial narrow border composed of offset bands of repeating stripes of pink, purple, yellow and white silk; lined with natural plain-weave hemp.
