Buddhist priest’s robe (kesa) of 25 bands; purple crepe ground appliqued with yellow silk of plain weave patterned in twill. Ties and ivory loop present for closure.

Inscription

"hirai ho zensho dai redo zenji" which refers to the mountain hirai ho and given to the zen temple in that district, in the middle of Spring.
