DescriptionBuddhist priest's stole (ôhi) with decoration of peonies. Center, border: gold figured silk with patterns of peonies; painterly rendering of large peony blossoms and buds trimmed with leaves. Shiten: red silk ground with woven-in patterns of the Four Guardian Kings in supplementary wefts of flat gold-leafed paper thread. Lining: light blue silk twill weave ground with interlocking diamond patterns in twill. Set with 39.2.
