Stele

Alabaster funerary stele with bull’s head, associated with the moon god, in high raised relief. An inscription on the base of the stele identifies the dedicator as Sabi of the Sabah tribe.

Said to be from Timna cemetery. 1959, John Deverill collection, Alton, UK; 1971, purchased by the MFA from John Deverill. (Accession date: December 8, 1971)
