DescriptionThis canopic jar has been carved of travertine (Egyptain alabaster). Slightly convex sides flare outward from a small, flat base to high, wide-set shoulders which curve in to a narrowly carved aperture. It has broken into several fragment and mended, and it is incomplete.
ProvenanceFrom Deir el-Bersha, chamber 51 A. 1915: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
