DescriptionThis limestone canopic jar and lid are carved of white limestone. The jar has almost straight, slightly flaring sides. The lid is disc shaped, characteristic of the Old Kingdom. The stone is somewhat battered and shipped, and the upper portion has some slight incrustations.
ProvenanceFrom Giza G 2360 A, chamber 1. 1912: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
