DescriptionThis limestone canopic jar and lid are carved of fine white limestone with fairly well smoothed surfaces. The jar has almost straight, slightly flaring sides that culminate in a rolled rim, which has several small chips/fragments missing from it. The lid is disc shaped, characteristic of the Old Kingdom.
ProvenanceFrom Giza G 2360 A, chamber 2. 1912: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
