DescriptionThis limestone canopic jar and lid are carved of fine white limestone with fairly well smoothed surfaces. The jar has straight, flaring sides that culminate in high shoulders curving to a slightly rolled rim. The lid is disc shaped, characteristic of the Old Kingdom.
ProvenanceGiza, tomb G 2360 A / chamber 3. 1911-1912: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Egypt.
