Cap from a wheel axle, featuring two crouching animals (lion?) with grotesque heads, large eyes and nose, small detached forelegs, and hind-legs with tail, in low relief. Red bronze, green patina, encrusted.

From Luristan, 1930: purchased by the MFA through Mr. Upham Pope.*
