Rectangular cardcase. Four white silk canvas panels (two exterior, two interior) with polychrome silk embroidery in tent stitch. Design: walled city with river and tree (obv.); waterfall rendered in black, white, shades of gray (rev.); initials “S N D” in silk and metallic thread with German inscription in black and stylized floral border (interior front); floral spray center and stylized floral border (interior back).
Gilt-decorated red leather binding and four pencil holder loops that form the closure. Interior panels form two pockets with white silk taffeta lining forming stiffened pleated side panels. Cardboard foundation. Panel of silk and parchment tied inside with green silk ribbon.
