Description(Paris: Jean Dallier, [1549]) Quarto; 42 leaves; seventeenth-century gilt-stamped brown calf, brown cloth box.
Illustrations: obelisk on rhinoceros (fol. 11r), richly-garbed horseman, thought to be the king (19r), triumphal arches (cf. plate betw. fols. 36 & 37)
First edition, split between two printers, Dallier and Jacques Roffet; see Mortimer for discussion. The MFA issue is the "augmented" Dallier edition with four more leaves. The text is attributed to Hardouyn Chauveau. A description of the printers passing in review during the entry is included on fol. e2r.
