Ecclesiastical Costume/Embroidery/Knitting. Chasuble back. Knitted orphrey strip of wool and cotton with polychrome vertical stripes, flanked by two repeating semi-naturalistic flower and leafy stalk motives in polychrome wool yarns plus a vertically undulating wavy line of linen and wool on either side. Glazed white wool ground. Tape of metal wire and linen yarns placed in a “V” from shoulders to center back, also an either side of the orphrey and around outside edges. Mounted on blue silk. Reworked small holes in ground, missing yarns, stained and soiled.
