DescriptionEcclesiastical Costume. Deep red, unpatterned, cut velvet sides. Orphrey; repeating one above the other, a pair of godrooned fountain or basin-like motives. From the spaces between them spring symmetrical pairs of leafy stalks and stylized floral volutes which terminate in zoo-morphic heads, blossoms and torch motives. Mainly metallic yarns with polychrome silk yarns on a red silk ground. Missing and worn yarns; possibly reworked in spots.
