Child’s dress with drawstring at neck which ties at back, short sleeves with floral embroidery and scalloped edges, high waist band with embroidered casing, four rows of horizontal pins ticks at lower half of skirt, hemline embroidered with floral sprigs with lace inserts in centers of blossoms and two bands of eyelet embroidery with scalloped edge

Written in ink on fabric label sewn to dress inside back waist closure: "Child's dress Benjamin Welles family, Boston about 1820."
