ProvenanceHenry Brodhurst (mid-19th century; cf. Lugt 1296), Mansfield, England [see note 1] (per Frederick Keppel - no mark). Frederick Keppel, Inc., New York; sold by Keppel to Henry Foster Sewall (b. 1816 - d. 1896; Lugt 1309), New York; 1896, by inheritance to Sewall's son, Charles Sewall (b. 1848 - d. 1898); 1897, sold by Charles Sewall to the MFA [see note 2].
