DescriptionOne of a pair of shaped circular dishes, with a shallow center depression and molded rim. a crest is engraved on the rim. Christie's says that it is a German coat of arms with a princely coronet, similar to that on 1993.510.1-29, and 1993.511.
InscriptionsMaker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two grains, FTG, a fleece (Incomplete) (Dennis, 162). Warden's mark: 1761-1762: a crowned X (Dennis, 75). Charge Mark:1756-1762: a crowned A (Dennis, 150). Other: Countermark used after 1838: par ts of insects (Rosenberg 5929); a small rectangle.
